The Sport, Outdoor Recreation, and Tourism Management (SORT) program equips students with the skills needed for leadership roles across commercial, private, and nonprofit sectors. This interdisciplinary field explores the connections between sports, recreation, and tourism, teaching students to design, market, and deliver experiential offerings in diverse environments. Alongside a comprehensive core curriculum, students can choose electives aligned with their career aspirations in sports, outdoor recreation, or tourism. UTC's SORT program also leverages Chattanooga's exceptional outdoor attractions and events through immersive learning opportunities. The curriculum includes two pre-internship field courses and a required internship, blending academic knowledge with real-world application through hands-on practicum experiences.
