The university provides three distinct pathways to prepare students for pharmacy studies at UT Health Science Center in Memphis. Students can earn a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from the College of Pharmacy after four years of professional study in Memphis, following completion of any of these preparatory programs. Detailed information about the pre-pharmacy options is available through Arts and Sciences Advising Services. One option is a three-year Bachelor of Science program with a pre-professional major at UT Knoxville, following the curriculum described below. This accelerated program requires completion of at least 90 specified credit hours in the College of Arts and Sciences, with the BS degree awarded after successfully finishing the first year in Memphis. The major requirement is waived for students continuing to their fourth year at UT Health Science Center. All participants must complete their final 30 credit hours at UT Knoxville before beginning pharmacy studies. Acceptance into the College of Pharmacy remains at the institution's discretion, and completing these preparatory programs doesn't guarantee admission.
