The Mathematics Department's core purpose is to generate, explore, and share mathematical knowledge across diverse areas. Fulfilling this requires engagement in multiple endeavors: conducting mathematical research, delivering comprehensive mathematics education, and serving our state, country, and fellow mathematics professionals. Instruction We must champion excellence in teaching by properly qualified mathematicians. Our teaching mission encompasses varied activities for different audiences. To achieve this, the Department is dedicated to: Delivering an extensive curriculum in both pure and applied mathematics for undergraduates, establishing a thorough, rigorous base suitable for numerous career paths. Administering graduate programs for master's and PhD candidates that impart profound, wide-ranging mathematical expertise, equipping them for prominent positions as educators, researchers, or industry mathematicians locally and globally. Supplying mathematical education tailored to support students in other university programs.
