Founded in 1926, the Dental Hygiene program ranks as one of the nation's longest-running programs. It has evolved from offering certificates to providing an entry-level Bachelor's degree.
Housed in the College of Dentistry, the Department of Dental Hygiene provides a single degree option: a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. This program equips students with comprehensive general education and professional skills tailored to modern and future dental hygiene careers. Graduates gain practical clinical expertise while developing specialized knowledge for teaching, research, public health, and related professional paths.
