The Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies (B.I.S.) offers a customizable degree path tailored to working professionals and students with unique educational goals. Designed as an alternative to conventional degree programs, the B.I.S. allows participants to select coursework aligned with their career aspirations. While requiring 38 core credit hours, the program permits up to 12 credits for prior experiential learning. This comprehensive four-year bachelor's degree meets all institutional standards.
Prospective B.I.S. students develop their personalized curriculum with guidance from an academic advisor. The proposed study plan requires written approval from the B.I.S. Coordinator, with copies maintained by both the registrar and advisor as the student's official academic roadmap. Subsequent changes to the Program of Study must receive authorization from the Interdisciplinary Studies Council.
