The Department of Geography and Sustainability offers an extensive curriculum covering the field's three core domains: human geography, physical geography, and geospatial studies. Our courses enable students to examine the connections between human societies and natural environments. Geography students gain factual understanding, sharpen critical analysis abilities, and develop problem-solving skills. Geographic education teaches students about spatial patterns, the reasons behind locations, regional variations, how human actions transform and are influenced by nature, and methods for studying human-environment relationships. The Sustainability degree programs immerse students in holistic approaches to examining the complex ties between society and ecosystems. While providing a broad foundation in sustainability challenges, the program lets students specialize in preferred areas like ecological sustainability, green development, or sustainability policy.
