Learners acquire analytical abilities such as contextual comprehension, recognizing patterns of change and continuity across eras, and deriving insights from incomplete or subjective historical materials.
History scholars explore significant social, economic, political, and cultural milestones, examining their connections across different periods and contemporary relevance. The program emphasizes developing critical reading and thinking skills, effective written and oral communication, and proficient research techniques. Every history student completes two foundational survey courses along with a core sequence covering historical methodologies, culminating in an advanced research project during their final year.
