As a ceramics student, you'll master various clay-building techniques (including coil, slab, and wheel methods) while exploring both conventional and innovative applications. The curriculum covers essential topics like clay formulation, glaze science, and kiln design. You'll have opportunities to fire pieces in diverse kiln types - electric, gas, wood, or salt - plus experiment with alternative methods such as pit, saggar, and raku firing. Upper-level students receive private studio areas and supervise teams during university kiln operations.
