The Sport and Entertainment Management (SPTE) Department at the University of South Carolina equips students for diverse leadership roles in the sports and entertainment sectors.
SPTE's mission is to foster an interdisciplinary academic setting for examining and addressing industry challenges. The department offers a well-rounded program featuring core education, business studies, specialized SPTE courses, plus two hands-on learning opportunities (practicum and internship) guided by both industry experts and faculty members.
Dedicated faculty and staff actively support student success. Graduates enter the field with extensive knowledge, career readiness, valuable alumni connections, and the skills to excel in management roles.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
