The Bachelor of Science in Geography program examines Earth's natural systems and their interrelationships. Students develop scientific understanding of human influences on ecosystems, preparing them for careers in climate studies, geospatial analysis (GIS), and related technical disciplines.
Unlike the B.A. version, the B.S. curriculum emphasizes physical landforms and atmospheric, biological, hydrological, and geological processes while maintaining a balanced foundation in social sciences and humanities. B.S. candidates select from three specialization paths: general geography, GIS technology, or physical/environmental geography.
The program teaches environmental interpretation, geospatial tool application, statistical analysis, and effective data communication. These competencies prepare graduates for diverse opportunities across academia, corporate, governmental, and nonprofit organizations.
