The Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science provides students with a comprehensive foundation in both natural and social sciences, while allowing customization through elective courses aligned with their personal interests. This program empowers students to design unique study plans that integrate environmental studies with various disciplines such as geology, biology, chemistry, oceanography, mathematics, economics, political science, and public health. Graduates develop valuable analytical, communication, and data interpretation skills that equip them for advanced academic pursuits or diverse career paths in environmental regulation, wildlife preservation, natural resource administration, and sustainable practices across private industries, non-profits, and government agencies.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
