Pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice provides comprehensive education about crime, covering prevention strategies through societal reactions. This multidisciplinary program combines theoretical foundations with policy evaluation, developing students' analytical abilities and problem-solving competencies for professional success or advanced education like legal studies. The B.A. curriculum prioritizes research while promoting practical experience through volunteer initiatives and engagement with justice system operations. Alumni enter diverse career paths across government entities, private organizations, and non-profits, working in areas including victim support, justice management, public safety, policing, mental health services, legal practice, and beyond.
International freshman applicants must be high school graduates (students that have the equivalent of a diploma in the United States).
English proficiency is measured through the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). A score of at least 550 on the paper based exam or 77 on the internet based TOEFL is required. USC also accepts the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or the PTE Academic Test. Students must score at least a 6.5 on the IELTS, or at least a 53 on the PTE.
