The Master of Education in Health Education (Grades 6-12) is a certification program that equips students to become Health Education instructors. Upon successfully meeting all requirements, graduates earn a Master of Education degree and qualify for Class A Teaching Certification from the Alabama State Department of Education. This 30-credit hour program trains future educators to deliver health instruction, establish school health initiatives, foster healthy learning environments, and build collaborative relationships between schools and communities. The curriculum encompasses diverse subjects including instructional methods, professional development, educational technology, and specialized health education courses. These specialized courses cover critical topics such as drug abuse prevention, nutrition management, disease prevention, and other relevant health concerns. Additionally, the program incorporates research opportunities that allow students to explore and contribute to the health education field.
