The Graduate Certificate Program at the University of South Alabama mandates completing at least four courses (12 credit hours) with grades of A or B, which must include Aging in American Society (SY 523) along with an approved internship or equivalent experience. Students are highly encouraged to enroll in additional courses to strengthen their aging and life course research/practice, such as public policy or public health classes, research methods relevant to their major field and/or gerontology, and professional ethics coursework.
Students must have completed a bachelor’s degree. English Proficiency Requirement: Minimum Duolingo: 100; Minimum TOEFL: 71; Minimum IELTS: 6.0; Minimum iTEP: 3.7; Minimum Pearson Academic: 48. Application Deadlines: Fall - 15th June, Spring - 1st November, Summer - 1st March.
