The University of South Alabama provides a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology program designed to equip students for diverse professional paths. Meteorology majors gain hands-on experience in live weather operations at the Alabama Power USA Coastal Weather Research Center, an advanced on-campus facility unmatched by other universities nationwide. This center delivers comprehensive weather data to regional businesses, industries, and local governments. The program offers three concentration options: the professional meteorology path for careers with the National Weather Service, military, or private forecasting firms; the broadcast meteorology specialization for media careers; and the graduate school pathway for those pursuing advanced academic studies.
Applicants must have completed a secondary schools with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. English Proficiency Requirement: Minimum IELTS: 5.5, Minimum TOEFL: 61, Minimum Pearson Academic: 44, Minimum iTEP: 3.6, Minimum Duolingo: 95.
