The University of South Alabama provides a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology program designed to equip students for diverse professional paths. Meteorology majors gain hands-on experience in live weather operations at the Alabama Power USA Coastal Weather Research Center, an advanced on-campus facility unmatched by other universities. This center delivers comprehensive weather data to regional businesses, industries, and local governments. The program offers three specialized pathways: the professional meteorology option readies graduates for roles with the National Weather Service, military organizations, or private forecasting firms, while the broadcast meteorology track caters to those pursuing careers in television and radio weather reporting.
Applicants must have completed a secondary schools with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. English Proficiency Requirement: Minimum IELTS: 5.5, Minimum TOEFL: 61, Minimum Pearson Academic: 44, Minimum iTEP: 3.6, Minimum Duolingo: 95.
