The Department of Civil, Coastal, and Environmental Engineering aims to deliver excellent, accessible undergraduate and graduate engineering programs that equip students for professional roles or advanced studies in civil engineering and related disciplines. It fosters the generation and sharing of knowledge via pertinent research and departmental initiatives addressing civil, coastal, and environmental engineering challenges. Additionally, the department supports Alabama and the Gulf Coast area through professional services and community engagement efforts. Civil engineers are responsible for designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the essential structures and infrastructure that underpin modern society. These systems are vital to daily life, encompassing buildings, highways, bridges, potable water supplies, stormwater and sewage management networks, railways, seaports, airports, environmental safeguards, dams, flood defenses, and numerous other components.
Applicants must have completed a secondary schools with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5. English Proficiency Requirement: Minimum IELTS: 5.5, Minimum TOEFL: 61, Minimum Pearson Academic: 44, Minimum iTEP: 3.6, Minimum Duolingo: 95.
