Alumni from our Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) program excel in their careers. They're achieving success at organizations of all sizes, spanning various industries such as Bose, Google, Apple, IBM, Siemens, GM, Microsoft, Intel, Verizon, Amazon, and federal agencies. Those pursuing academic paths secure teaching or research roles in both corporate and academic settings.
The doctoral program mandates completion of 90 graduate credit hours, with 60 credits earned post-master's degree. First-year PhD candidates must complete and pass 24 credits of advanced ECE coursework. The curriculum includes four specialized courses within their focus area and a minimum of two cross-disciplinary ECE graduate courses.
All PhD candidates must fulfill teaching assistant responsibilities as part of their academic journey. This teaching component enhances students' mastery of their field while offering crucial professional development, making it an essential element of doctoral education. The ECE department requires participation in two semesters of TA duties.
