The Rochester Marketing PhD program is dedicated to cultivating exceptional quantitative marketing researchers. Students acquire advanced expertise in economics, econometrics, statistics, machine learning, and causal analysis. This training enables them to tackle important marketing questions through innovative empirical methods. Faculty members work closely with PhD candidates, providing mentorship to develop both technical abilities and independent research capabilities essential for academia. Current investigations by faculty and doctoral students explore diverse topics such as digital marketing, e-commerce, retail dynamics, pricing strategies, platform rivalry, consumer recommendations, and promotional activities. Our research spans key marketing domains including price setting, promotional campaigns, product development, distribution channels, competitive analysis, and market segmentation.
