The Barry Florescue Undergraduate Business Program at the University of Rochester fosters a dynamic, close community of faculty, staff, scholars, and students. This program prepares future entrepreneurial and innovative leaders by providing essential analytical skills. Students gain a strong foundation in quantitative and applied economics through challenging coursework, extracurricular activities, and practical learning experiences designed by the same professors who instruct our MBA and MS programs—equipping them for tomorrow's business landscape.
Earning a BS in business requires completing four additional courses to specialize in a chosen track. This path is ideal for those seeking deeper exploration of a specific business field.
The BS program caters to students who wish to concentrate more intensely on a particular business discipline. Participants may formally select just one BS Business specialization (options include accounting, business analytics, finance, entrepreneurship, information systems, or marketing).
Business analytics merges multiple disciplines—business, mathematics, statistics, and computer science—to derive valuable insights from data. Those pursuing this track will master core competencies like Python programming, econometrics, database management, data visualization, and predictive modeling. This specialization is perfect for students passionate about leveraging analytical tools to uncover patterns, generate insights, and drive data-informed strategies.
