The Film and Media Studies program enables students to examine cinema, television, and digital arts as both artistic expressions and cultural forces. Participants can pursue a minor, select a course cluster, or complete a full BA degree in this field. The university also accepts film and media production credits earned at other institutions. Graduates find diverse career paths in fields like: Journalism across print and digital platforms, Arts administration and museum curation, Film archiving and preservation, Information science, Digital content creation. Some alumni continue their education at film schools or graduate programs focusing on production roles such as directing, cinematography, screenwriting, or performance. Others opt for advanced studies in media analysis, historical research, or critical theory at the master's or doctoral level.
Postgraduate options also include specialized programs in media legislation and corporate media operations.
Through the program's partnerships, undergraduates can secure internships at domestic and international media outlets and television networks.
The Art New York initiative offers semester-long opportunities to work with leading cultural organizations while taking courses in NYC.
The program strongly recommends international study opportunities, available for summer terms, single semesters, or full academic years.
