Recognized as a premier institution for Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate studies, the URI College of Pharmacy provides unique programs and specialized fields that are rarely found at other universities nationwide. You'll learn from globally acclaimed faculty members who are distinguished experts in fundamental, clinical, and practical pharmaceutical sciences, demonstrating transformative, highly cooperative, and multidisciplinary approaches to education and research. Dedicated to instruction, investigation, and guidance, our professors focus on cultivating future generations of researchers and scholars.
At the graduate level, the college provides M.S. and Ph.D. programs in Pharmaceutical Sciences with four distinct focus areas. The Health Outcomes specialization covers pharmacoepidemiology and pharmacoeconomics - vital research disciplines examining medication impacts across populations. Pharmacoepidemiology concentrates on health outcomes within communities, while pharmacoeconomics analyzes healthcare expenditure implications. These fields demand programming expertise, statistical knowledge, pharmaceutical practice understanding, and disease-specific awareness. Professionals in these areas must be capable of addressing real-world challenges by formulating research inquiries, executing studies, and disseminating discoveries to the scientific community.
