The Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology prepares students for diverse careers in exercise science while also meeting prerequisites for various healthcare graduate programs.
Exceptional incoming freshmen aiming for URI's Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program may select this accelerated pathway during orientation. The major advantage: completing both a B.S. in Kinesiology and DPT in just six years instead of seven.
Students meeting the ECPT option's demanding standards can apply to URI's DPT program during their fourth year. Upon acceptance, first-year DPT coursework counts as electives toward the Kinesiology bachelor's degree. After fulfilling credit requirements, students earn their B.S. before continuing directly into the DPT program, achieving both degrees in six years rather than the traditional seven.
