The Bachelor of Fine Arts program offers a studio-focused curriculum with intensive professional development, demanding a greater emphasis on credits from studio-based coursework. To graduate, students must complete 72 credits in art and art history. Our sculpture program actively mentors students in exploring the medium's vast potential, viewing sculpture as a comprehensive discipline bridging conceptual and physical realms. Many contemporary art forms originally grew from sculptural roots, cultivated by artists who identified primarily as sculptors. The field remains dynamic, embracing innovative techniques, novel materials, mixed approaches, and interdisciplinary work. We motivate students to investigate all these avenues.
Our Objectives
Build a solid framework that's organized, fosters personal discipline, and presents diverse methods rooted in both traditional sculptural practices and contemporary innovations.
Create a studio environment that serves as a haven for creative experimentation and interdisciplinary work, supporting blended processes and cross-disciplinary exploration.
Develop a program that helps students discover their artistic passions, grow increasingly self-motivated, and establish an autonomous creative practice within today's multifaceted visual landscape.
