The Bachelor of Fine Arts program offers a studio-focused curriculum with rigorous professional preparation, demanding a greater emphasis on credits from studio coursework. Students must complete 72 credits in art and art history to earn their degree. Our painting curriculum welcomes varied techniques and perspectives, spanning from observational studies to conceptually driven explorations. Faculty foster the creative balance between freedom and focus by urging students to question artistic assumptions, maintain an inquisitive and experimental mindset, and continually raise their creative benchmarks. We strive to create an environment where concepts are freely explored, debated, and perfected.
Courses immerse students in deep personal exploration while building practical technical abilities, visual analysis skills, and knowledge of artistic movements within historical and cultural contexts.
