For the last twenty years, both fine and applied artists have incorporated digital tools, techniques, and aesthetics into every stage of their creative workflow. Today, nearly every conventional art practice includes digital elements, alongside completely new interactive mediums like web design, video games, and mobile applications.
Our digital art and design studio program plunges students into evolving aesthetic forms and cultural dialogues shaped by digital tools in fine and applied arts. Fine artists choose concepts, mediums, and designs based on personal vision, while applied artists adapt these elements to fulfill a client's objectives.
One key challenge for students is balancing technical digital proficiency with cultivating artistic sensibility and an uninhibited creative process. To connect technical mastery with aesthetic discernment, the curriculum emphasizes visual literacy, graphic design principles, and their relationship to fine arts theory, historical movements, and current studio trends.
