Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioners often accompany patients through various healthcare environments, serving as advocates to maintain care standards and ensure safety during transitions. These dedicated professionals form the foundation of nursing, providing continuous care through all stages of wellness and illness, with growing demand in today's healthcare landscape. Our curriculum centers on five fundamental courses, enhanced by three theoretical and four clinical components. The clinical training incorporates classroom case analyses and hands-on preceptorships emphasizing physical evaluation, disease processes, preventive care, and treatment of both acute and chronic conditions. We'll prepare you to provide adaptable patient care across diverse settings, from community clinics and private practices to specialized facilities, VA centers, home healthcare, senior living communities, long-term care institutions, rehab centers, and urgent care clinics.
