The CIS/MSE program provides students with the chance to pursue in-depth learning in the fundamental sciences of the expanding computer science discipline. MSE candidates are expected to possess a solid background in mathematics and computer science from their undergraduate studies, with previous classes covering topics like operating systems, programming languages, data structures, discrete mathematics, linear algebra, and algorithm theory. These prerequisites should mirror the curriculum completed by computer science undergraduates at the University of Pennsylvania.
Applicants for master’s and doctoral programs must have obtained a bachelor’s degree from an accredited School or University prior to intended matriculation date.
