The SMART master's program in Statistics, Measurement, Assessment, and Research Technology equips students for careers in educational research, psychological studies, and social service evaluation. This curriculum develops expertise in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data, creating measurement tools and tests, designing surveys, implementing experimental and quasi-experimental studies, developing evaluation methods, and conducting statistical analyses with reporting.
Admission to Penn GSE requires satisfactory completion of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. university or its equivalent prior to your matriculation into any program.
Applicant must have Interest in education research or related human services fields.
A strong command of the English language is necessary for successful study at Penn. Applicants whose families do not speak English at home, or applicants who have not attended a high school or secondary school where the primary language of instruction is English, are asked to take the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, administered by the Educational Testing Service. In the event the TOEFL is not readily accessible, Penn will accept results from the IELTS, the International English Language Testing System.
