The Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Development master's program equips graduates for professional paths in academic research, youth program coordination, research advisory roles, program assessment, and further graduate education. This cross-disciplinary human development graduate program enables students to design a customized curriculum, fostering a deeper comprehension of varied human development perspectives throughout life, tailored to specific career goals such as: scholarly research, youth services, urban and ethnic studies, adult education, international initiatives (including NGO collaboration), foundation management, and program design.
Applicant must have Bachelor’s degree (Some preliminary coursework in psychology and/or human development is desired).
A strong command of the English language is necessary for successful study at Penn. Applicants whose families do not speak English at home, or applicants who have not attended a high school or secondary school where the primary language of instruction is English, are asked to take the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, administered by the Educational Testing Service. In the event the TOEFL is not readily accessible, Penn will accept results from the IELTS, the International English Language Testing System.
