The Master of Architecture program offers an in-depth, demanding curriculum that equips students for all aspects of architectural practice. Design Studios form the core of this intensive program. Students receive extensive instruction in historical context, theoretical frameworks, building technologies, environmental considerations, social impacts, and business operations. These studio courses are complemented by a strong visual studies component focusing on digital tools and emerging media. Advanced students can tailor their education by choosing specialized studios and electives taught by prominent figures in design, technology, and theory. The final year features advanced design studios with research opportunities under renowned practitioners, including the option to pursue an independent thesis project. International learning experiences are available through summer abroad programs and overseas studio courses. This program fosters innovative, analytical, and self-directed thinking to navigate our rapidly evolving world. The Master of Architecture is a NAAB-accredited professional degree.
Students with an undergraduate degree in a subject other than architecture may be admitted to the program beginning in June.
Students with an undergraduate major in Architecture may be admitted to the three-year program.
Students with a four-year pre-professional degree in architecture may be admitted to the program with one year of advanced standing.
To be admitted without conditions, most departments require applicants to obtain a TOEFL score of 100 (internet-based) or higher, a PTE Academic score of 68 or higher, or an IELTS band score of 7.0 or higher.
