The nature and influence of communication is shaped by the structures and frameworks where it takes place. Scholars at Annenberg investigate the evolution, architecture, spread, and governance of both conventional and new media, examining individual technologies, platforms, organizations, and sectors as well as their integration into wider local, national, international, and global media ecosystems. Operating in a fundamentally interdisciplinary domain, Annenberg researchers tackle diverse subjects spanning health, politics, media infrastructures, digital networks and culture, journalism, identity studies, and beyond, employing both qualitative and quantitative approaches.
