Through the NHCM program, you'll pursue dual studies across both institutions, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing alongside a Bachelor of Science in Economics. The curriculum combines scientific and clinical training with liberal arts education from the Arts and Sciences. This program was specifically crafted to enhance clinical skills while expanding understanding of healthcare system management. Our interdisciplinary method blends nursing practice, business principles, and liberal arts education. Participants benefit from academic advisors at both the Nursing and Wharton schools, completing this comprehensive clinical and academic program within five years.
High school seniors can apply to the NHCM program as part of Penn’s undergraduate admissions process.
A strong command of the English language is necessary for successful study at Penn. Applicants whose families do not speak English at home, or applicants who have not attended a high school or secondary school where the primary language of instruction is English, are asked to take the TOEFL, the Test of English as a Foreign Language, administered by the Educational Testing Service. In the event the TOEFL is not readily accessible, Penn will accept results from the IELTS, the International English Language Testing System.
