Students pursuing the Global Environmental Systems concentration will center their studies on comprehending worldwide environmental systems. This 15-credit concentration/major combines courses from multiple categories listed below. Graduates of Environmental Studies gain expertise in human-ecosystem interactions with our changing planet. They grasp fundamental physical and chemical processes, along with knowledge about atmospheric conditions, climate shifts, geological cycles, natural disasters, and Earth's water and nutrient cycles. These graduates also acquire foundational skills in environmental economics, public health, sustainable practices, renewable resources, and ecosystem management. Furthermore, they develop comprehensive knowledge of human-environment relationships, awareness of global and local environmental challenges, and proficiency in environmental policy development and reform processes.
