Classical Studies explores the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome, spanning from prehistoric times through the medieval era, with a focus on their literary works, philosophical traditions, and historical developments. This field examines economic systems, governance structures, societal norms, and intellectual thought, along with archaeological findings, religious practices, and mythological traditions. Learners can select a concentration involving Greek and/or Latin texts or pursue coursework without language prerequisites. Our department delivers comprehensive undergraduate education and advanced studies in both Classical Studies and Ancient History. Additionally, we feature a unique Post-Baccalaureate Program designed for students seeking to enhance their Greek and Latin proficiency before entering standard graduate studies.
