Classical Studies explores the cultures of ancient Greece and Rome, spanning from prehistoric times through the medieval era, with a focus on classical literature, philosophy, and historical developments. This field incorporates economic, political, social, and intellectual history alongside philosophy, archaeology, religious studies, and mythology. Learners can select a concentration involving Greek and/or Latin texts or pursue coursework that doesn't require proficiency in ancient languages. Our Classical Studies Department delivers comprehensive undergraduate education and advanced graduate programs in both Classical Studies and Ancient History. Additionally, we feature a unique Post-Baccalaureate Program designed for students seeking to deepen their Greek and Latin studies who aren't yet prepared for standard graduate-level requirements.
