The Psychology Department's graduate program fosters collaboration across disciplines and carefully selects candidates to equip them for diverse career paths in academia, research institutions, healthcare settings, government, and social service organizations. To encourage cross-disciplinary dialogue, our department organizes around intellectual communities that transcend conventional research categories. Faculty members are committed to mentoring students to become autonomous researchers capable of applying their field's theories and methodologies to address significant scientific inquiries.
We provide two distinct master's pathways: an on-campus program tailored for driven students aiming for doctoral studies, and an online program crafted to enhance the skills of current and aspiring social services professionals.
The University of Oregon's Customized Master's Program in Psychology (MS track exclusively) delivers specialized education for a select group of individuals with well-defined research objectives and structured academic goals.
This program differs from conventional master's degrees as it doesn't offer broad foundational training in psychology. Additionally, we cannot provide clinical instruction (including practical experience and skill-building) at the master's level.
