The Master of Science in Prevention Science offers students diverse opportunities to build lasting partnerships with research centers and faculty in the College of Education, equipping them with scientific skills to benefit varied communities. This two-year, 65-credit program is designed for individuals who: hold a bachelor's degree in a relevant field or have background in human development, psychology, education, biology, human physiology, nutrition, or prevention science, and desire advanced statistical/methodological training beyond the one-year MEd curriculum.
MS applicants typically possess well-defined academic objectives and seek rigorous scientific and methodological preparation in prevention science and program evaluation compared to MEd candidates. The two-year MS program further enables students to cultivate extended research collaborations with faculty and centers both within and beyond the program, without demanding the extensive commitment required for a PhD.
