The Interdisciplinary Studies Program (ISP) offers the university's most adaptable path to earning MA and MS degrees through interdisciplinary study. Tailored for students with clearly defined academic objectives that don't align with traditional departmental offerings, this program allows for customized curriculum development while requiring coursework from two or three approved master's programs.
Graduates of this program will achieve the following competencies: Cross-Disciplinary Synthesis: Master the integration of concepts and approaches from diverse fields to formulate original research inquiries and tackle multifaceted challenges. Analytical Reasoning: Strengthen critical analysis capabilities for understanding, assessing, and interpreting theories and methods across various disciplines. Research Techniques: Develop expertise in interdisciplinary research practices, encompassing data gathering, evaluation, and synthesis to execute thorough cross-disciplinary investigations.
