Environmental challenges are intricate and multifaceted, requiring perspectives beyond any single academic field. The Dodge Family College of Arts and Sciences at OU has created an environmental studies program for students seeking expertise in specialized environmental areas while maintaining an interdisciplinary foundation. This major features a highly adaptable curriculum with a five-course core, mostly chosen from physical/natural sciences and methodological options. Beyond the core, students complete nine additional courses spanning three fundamental areas: environmental humanities, natural sciences, and social sciences.
The environmental studies program offers both Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degree paths. For advanced study, students may continue with OU's Master of Science in Environmental Studies program.
