The OU School of Visual Arts' Master's Program in Art History focuses on upholding rigorous academic excellence while offering personalized guidance in student mentorship and education. Our Art History faculty fosters analytical, innovative, and scholarly perspectives on art historical study, combining keen visual analysis with deep engagement of relevant primary and secondary sources within cultural frameworks. The curriculum strengthens both verbal and written communication skills alongside perceptual abilities throughout the program. Proficiency in French, German, Spanish, or another approved research language is required.

This Art History MA program equips graduates for doctoral studies or careers in museums and galleries. Applicants should possess a solid liberal arts foundation with a minimum of 18 undergraduate art history credits.
