The Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication welcomes applications for our doctoral program. We're looking for emerging scholars eager to investigate journalism fundamentals, mass communication principles, and professional media practices. Our Ph.D. candidates will work with faculty members whose diverse research interests span multiple methodologies and viewpoints across three focus areas: News and Information, Strategic Communication, and Media Arts. This program continues our strong tradition of successfully transitioning master's students into doctoral research, demonstrated by numerous award-winning papers and presentations at major academic conferences worldwide in recent years.

International students are required by the university to take the TOEFL and IELTS exams, with a minimum score of 79 on TOEFL and a 6.5 minimum on the IELTS exam.
