The doctoral program is designed to train and cultivate professionals skilled in performing and leading research in computer science. This program mandates at least three years of full-time study after earning a bachelor's degree, achievable through a minimum of 45 course credits and 30 dissertation research credits, totaling no fewer than 90 combined hours. Candidates must pass a comprehensive examination prior to defending their dissertation. Each doctoral candidate undergoes this examination in their primary area of study, which includes both written and oral components to assess expertise across related disciplines, as well as analytical, synthetic, and critical thinking skills. Alongside this exam, the degree requires 90 post-baccalaureate credits and concludes with the presentation and defense of an original research dissertation.
