The Management Information Systems (MIS) concentration within the Business Administration PhD program at the Michael F. Price College of Business emphasizes studying how information technologies influence economic and social environments. This program prepares students to become academic professionals by developing their research capabilities and teaching competencies, enabling them to contribute meaningful insights about IT applications and educate future student cohorts. The MIS doctoral track requires full-time commitment, with all accepted candidates receiving substantial financial assistance for four years, including research funding. Well-performing students may obtain support for an optional fifth year. The curriculum involves coursework on core MIS research concepts and methods, collaborative research with faculty, teaching assistantships for undergraduate and graduate courses, and eventually leading MIS classes independently. With its limited enrollment, the program fosters close mentorship between faculty and doctoral candidates.
