The Woodwind Department at the University of Oklahoma provides students with outstanding instruction from dedicated faculty members who specialize in all woodwind instruments, such as flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, and saxophone. OU stands alone in Oklahoma as the sole institution with full-time professors for every woodwind specialty, with these accomplished musicians actively engaged in both performance and teaching careers. Alumni from OU's Woodwind Department have attained remarkable accomplishments, pursuing advanced studies at top-tier graduate programs and securing positions as performers and educators in universities, K-12 schools, and professional ensembles nationwide. Along with standard university admission criteria, prospective woodwind students must successfully complete an instrumental audition for acceptance into the College of Fine Arts.
