The Acting program is designed for undergraduate students aiming to build a performance career in professional theater, television, or film. At the OU School of Drama, acting students can enroll in up to ten specialized courses during their studies, covering areas like Character and Scene Analysis, Shakespearean and Classical Performance, Non-Realistic Theater, Contemporary Play Production, and Audition Techniques. The Helmerich School of Drama at the University of Oklahoma-Norman Campus is currently seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Lighting Design. Ideal candidates will possess a dedication to education, demonstrated excellence in professional and academic artistic work, and strong collaborative abilities. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate Lighting Design courses such as Computer-Aided Design and Introduction to Design, designing one to three annual University Theatre productions, guiding student designers, and contributing to the growth of the design & production curriculum. Maintaining professional design work or scholarly pursuits is essential for tenure advancement and program success.

Admission to the University of Oklahoma is based on completion of a rigorous secondary school curriculum, demonstrated by a recognized certificate of completion that would qualify you for entrance into a university in your country.

Minimum 3.0 GPA

Freshman must submit official transcripts from all secondary or middle schools attended. If secondary school in your country includes standardized graduation exams and certificates, official copies of these should be submitted.
All freshman applicants are required to submit one letter of recommendation, two additional letters may be submitted.
