The Art, Technology, and Culture (ATC) initiative integrates photography, cinema, and digital media. This curriculum provides learners with hands-on experience in technical methods, unconventional approaches, and critical theory. Emphasizing media creators as autonomous artists, the technical training equips participants for professional opportunities in both artistic and commercial fields. Dedicated to nurturing emerging visual storytellers within a studio environment, film and video instructors guide students in crafting projects using 16mm film, digital media, sound art, live performance, and immersive installations. Educators bring expertise in animation, avant-garde cinema, social justice media, multi-screen video works, and location-based art. The photography curriculum is designed to give students comprehensive experience with both traditional and contemporary photographic processes. Participants will access darkroom facilities with film development stations for all formats, alongside a digital imaging lab equipped with diverse capture and printing technologies. ATC professors have earned prestigious honors at national, regional, and institutional levels for their pedagogy, scholarship, and artistic contributions, including the OU Foundation's Distinguished Teaching Prize and the Regents' Recognition for Academic and Institutional Leadership. Program participants regularly showcase their creations in regional, national, and global exhibitions and competitions.
