Gain essential classroom management and instructional design expertise to excel as an educator and equip future generations for achievement. Our Teacher Education program provides three specialized pathways (Elementary, Middle School, and Secondary Tracks) along with adaptable degree options to develop successful teaching professionals. After fulfilling all admission criteria and completing the Teacher Certification Program application process, candidates qualify for entry into UNT's Educator Preparation Program. Completing all program requirements may result in a recommendation for Initial Teacher Certification from the Texas Education Agency.

The interdisciplinary studies curriculum allows students significant flexibility in creating customized academic programs that transcend traditional subject boundaries. Master's program applicants can choose between two options: a personalized study plan or an established concentration. With the self-styled approach, students craft a program to explore specific intellectual pursuits or multidisciplinary topics by combining relevant graduate courses from across the university. Prospective students should consult the Graduate School when considering a self-styled plan. Recognized concentrations offer more structured coursework centered around specific interdisciplinary themes. Both pathways culminate in either a Master of Arts or Master of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies.
