You'll engage with instructors, fellow students, and guest artists to study ceramics' diverse cultural heritage and modern applications, gaining insight into current artistic approaches. The M.F.A. curriculum combines creative exploration, modern theory, and practical studio work, culminating in a final exhibition.

This comprehensive terminal degree experience emphasizes both intellectual and artistic development, equipping students for lifelong achievement and cultural impact. The program tailors its approach to each student's unique goals while strengthening conceptual, aesthetic, and technical abilities.

Nationally and internationally acclaimed artist-educators guide the program, supported by exceptional facilities featuring two Blaauw gas kilns, soda/salt kilns, wood kiln, raku kiln, computerized electric kilns, full-color decal printer, clay mixers, and cutting-edge digital tools including multi-axis CNC routers, plasma cutters, laser cutters, and resin printers. Note: If the minimum GPA requirements are met, the Toulouse Graduate School will forward your packet to our department for review. You must meet the admission requirements of the UNT Toulouse Graduate School, including a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a bachelor's degree if applying without a master's degree. Portfolio of artwork: This should be 15-20 images of your recent work. Label each image with your name, title, medium, size, and date, or include an image list with this information.
Artist Statement: A brief statement addressing the artwork submitted.
Statement of Intent: A brief statement about why you are interested in attending graduate school and a declaration of your intended concentration in art.
Resume: Your resume should include relevant professional experience and an exhibition record if you have one.
Two letters of recommendation: Applicants must provide contact information for at least two recommenders with their application materials in Slideroom. Your recommenders will receive an email from Slideroom to enter their recommendation.
