The UNT Chemistry Department hosts one of the nation's most extensive computational chemistry research teams. This expansion led to establishing the Center for Advanced Scientific Computing and Modeling (CASCaM) in 2005, bringing together faculty from diverse scientific and engineering disciplines.

The Ph.D. program focuses on self-directed research within your selected chemistry specialization. It combines rigorous coursework to build foundational chemistry expertise while training you to tackle leading-edge scientific challenges. Our program increasingly emphasizes collaborative and cross-disciplinary research initiatives. Doctoral degrees are offered with specializations in Inorganic, Organic, Physical, or Analytical Chemistry, as well as Chemistry Education.
